Veteran's Outreach Center in Fernwood offers community, coffee, and a free medical audit and benefits review for our hometown heroes

Beacon Spotlight • September 13, 2026

The Veteran's Outreach Center, located at 64127 Hwy 3 S, Fernwood, ID 83830, opened its doors on July 3, 2026, and is staffed by some very dedicated volunteers. The Center is about veterans serving veterans, and the larger organization has core services including mental health support, resource navigation, food and basic needs assistance, and mentorship and life skills.

The Fernwood Center offers a very specific gift to the veterans community, which provides a FREE annual medical audit and benefits review, that may lead to a higher ratings approval and allow for additional or increased benefits, including spousal benefits, burial benefits, and increased monthly benefit amounts. These services are eligible to any veteran, even those previously turned down, as the PACT Act allows veterans to reapply. After the audit and benefits review, the Center will connect you with a Veteran's Service Officer to support you through the remaining steps to the benefits you earned and are due.

The Center is open Monday through Wednesday, from 9-1, and Friday from 2-10. Make sure you come by for Hot Dog Friday. It's a wonderful place to meet fellow veterans and supportive community. Stop by or give them a call, at (208) 582-4330, email: veteransoutreachcenterinc@yahoo.com.
